Some are called to go deeper, to embrace change, to awaken to the realization that all events, circumstances and relationships are sacred curriculum and that they all “come to pass.”  Beginnings and endings, births and deaths are spiritual initiations in the field of time.  Spiritual awakening results when we are able to embrace and appreciate the dissolution of forms as well as the creative process that brings forth new life, new structures. The Veil of Illusion is attachment to forms and this attachment is the source of all human suffering. 

The sacred intention of these new gatherings is to create a Heart Centered vehicle for spiritual development, healing, transformation and awakening.  Mark Pope says, “I am deeply and particularly devoted to the awakening of Divine Love in those I serve.  This awakening to Divine Love is the quantum shift that lifts our perspective, causing us to fall in love with all Life and releasing us from the ego’s incessant attempts to control or hold onto that which is always passing away.  This awakening allows us to transcend all concepts about spiritual awakening and affords us access to supernal compassion, innate harmony, the healing presence, and unconditional love. Further, I envision a sacred gathering where each participant is seen and known to bear spiritual gifts and resources that enrich every other participant.”

Biography:  After having been incarcerated for seven years in reform schools, county jails, a locked psychiatric ward, and a maximum security unit of the Texas penitentiary, Mark Pope experienced a spiritual awakening in 1971 while facing a life sentence for crimes he did not commit.  For over 30 years he has followed an eclectic path that includes metaphysics, eastern and western mysticism, 12 step recovery programs, depth psychology, and mythology. 

After experiencing a deeper realization of the significance of the Heart Center, he has devoted himself to this awakening of Grace in others.  He has conducted and/or participated in pilgrimages to Peru, Greece, India, Scotland (Rosslyn Chapel), France, and the Hopi reservation in northern Arizona.  He has presented his work in England, Scotland, Canada, Mexico and throughout the United States.  He is a licensed and ordained Unity minister and the founder of the Awakening Heart Center.
